We are an all inclusive travelling caterer that service Manitoba and it’s surrounding areas.We also service the Winnipeg Winter Club which is our home base.

How did you get started in the wedding industry, and what inspired you to become a catering company?

The catering company already existed when we bought in.We are very passionate about great food and customer service from our many years at the Manitoba Club. And the weddings were always so fun and different. So, when the opportunity came up to buy into Urban Prairie Cuisine, we didn’t hesitate.

What do you enjoy most about working in the wedding industry and serving couples on their special day?

That no two weddings are the same. We get to help couples create a delicious menu for their special day.

What do you believe is the most important consideration when couples are choosing a caterer?

The service that the company can offer. You can have the best food in the world, but if you don’t reply to emails or have any servers, then no one will ever get to experience that food.

What is the ideal timeline for couples to book your services in advance of their wedding day?

Couples can book as far in advance as they would like with us, but we typically start booking around 18 months prior, with most prime dates gone a year out.

What is the best piece of advice you would offer to couples planning their wedding?

the first three vendors you should book are your venue, your photographer and your caterer.Plan as much as you can, care about the details, but don’t let it overrun your life.Hire a planner or day of coordinator – they’re a godsend. Then, on the wedding day, let go of everything, enjoy your day and just be present.

Can you share your favourite wedding trend or design idea that you're currently excited about?

We have seen a lot of personal touches with the menu and name cards which is very sweet to see.

How do you stand out?

We provide excellent customer service, great food and we cook fresh on-site.
