Who are you, what you do and who you serve?

We are Caitlin Louisa and Jennifer Fortier, the owners of Studio Nevele. Studio Nevele is an inclusive, by-the-hour rental space, available for creators, photographers, and (small) events in the Waterfront District of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

What services do you offer? 

By-the-hour studio rentals.

How did you get started in the wedding industry, and what inspired you to start a studio?

Both Jen & Caitlin are wedding photographers in Winnipeg! We’ve both been in the industry for 5+ years and outside of weddings, we are passionate about boudoir, branding, and so many more stories. The studio was a natural progression of a need we had for ourselves, but something we knew the Winnipeg community needed; a blank canvas that still held depth and texture.

What do you enjoy most about working in the wedding industry and serving couples on their special day?

We love that this is a day that will forever go down as one of a couples’ favourite days together. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime having the love of your life + all your nearest and dearest surrounding you and we love that we get to take part in that joy & capture memories that will last generations!

What do you believe is the most important consideration when couples are choosing a photo location?

We are both primarily natural light photographers, so we believe lighting & the way the light can reflect is everything when it comes to a photography location. In terms of timeline; it’s also really important to think about locations that are easily accessible and can fit within your day simply & without stress.

What is the ideal timeline for couples to book your studio in advance of their wedding day/photo session?

As of right now, our bookings are available 120 days in advance. We recommend booking as soon as possible to secure your desired date as studio (especially weekends) do fill up within 2-3 weeks beforehand.

What is the best piece of advice you would offer to couples planning their wedding?

Leave space to feel present on your wedding day! Your wedding day shouldn’t feel like you’re sticking to a timeline and rushing from one event to the next. It’s going to go by way too fast and it’s so important to give yourself time to slow down and enjoy it.

How does your studio stand out?

Our studio space is designed with a modern and industrial approach using textures and natural materials such as stone, clay, wood, and fabrics.

Anything else you would like to mention?

We do want to note that our permit allows our renter to host up to 10 people (so 11, max). The studio is 265 square feet, with no waiting rooms, etc. Just something to keep in mind for those thinking about hosting wedding party portraits in our space!
