COVID Wedding- Tips & Tricks

Planning a wedding during COVID is no joke. There are so many new aspects to consider and ever-changing regulations to worry about. Luckily, we have been a part of over a dozen weddings in 2020 and we have a pretty good grasp on how to proceed.

Here are our tips and tricks for planning a wedding during a pandemic.

1- You need to be OK with change.

I know that you might normally have a thread of control over everything else in your life, but the regulations are out of your hands.

2- Prepare for the worst.

I don't want to sound like a bummer but prepare for the worst. Having guest lists created for 10, 25, 50 and 100 people will make it easier when the time comes to send out invites.

3- Understand that your vision might have to change.

You might not be able to have dancing or a live band, or a self serve charcuterie board. That's ok, but you need to willing to make changes based on the restrictions.

4- Deposits/Retainers are likely non-refundable.

Most vendors have suffered an extreme loss of income due to covid. While we know that it is not your fault, and we are not trying to penalize you in any way, we also have fixed expenses associated with your event. IE- email communications, software program accessibility, etc... We are all navigating the unknown together, so please be kind.

5- Understand that some guests may be unable to attend.

Maybe the travel restrictions are keeping them away. Perhaps they just honestly don't feel comfortable in "large" crowds. Having a live-streaming option is a great way to keep everyone connected, in person or virtually.

No matter how you proceed, it will be authentic and gorgeous in its own way. Stay safe, stay connected virtually and reach out if you have any questions or need assistance on your wedding day!
